Although the initiative Occupational Health and Safety (OHS) has been a priority at Constantia Teich Poland since years, the Polish site added numerous activities in 2014. These were introduced by the Board and the newly appointed OHS inspector Artur Bana. The measures that were taken immediately paid off – the most visible result being a significant drop in number of accidents. Most satisfactory the year 2014 ended with zero incidents!
This remarkable accomplishment recently was officially recognized by state authorities: Constantia Teich Poland came in first place in the competition "Employer – safe work organizer” in the Lodz region (category medium-sized companies (50-250 employees)). The official award presentation ceremony was held on November 18th, 2015 in the PIP office in Lodz, where Artur Bana and HR Manager Monika Knul accepted the award.
“We invest the time and use company resources to make sure that the people who come to work every day are safe”, said Managing Director Krzysztof Miszczak. “The first place in the region and a very good fifth place on the state level is a confirmation of the high safety standards at our company. It is also a recognition of the commitment and attitude of the staff who, through the daily work, co-create safe workplaces. Actions undertaken in engaging employees in creating safe working conditions, as well as 5S system solutions are not only effective, but also caught the attention of the auditors.”
Special safety measures that have been applied within Constantia Teich Poland for example include a new safety guide for visitors, professional first aid course training, the introduction of periodic internal trainings and the introduction of internal training for forklift trucks operators.
